INTERNATIONAL FOLKLORE FESTIVAL AND COMPETITION
Dear friends!
I am happy to welcome the participants and guests of the International Folklore Festival and Competition «Interfolk in Russia»!
St Petersburg is the cultural capital of Russia and one of the largest European and world’s art centers. Our city is famous for its rich musical traditions that are carefully retained and cherished.
Now for the fourth time «Interfolk in Russia» Festival is being held on the banks of the Neva to become, as ever before, a real celebration for true connoisseurs of folk art. Its main purpose is to show how pieces of classical music can be in perfect harmony with folk tunes. The Festival presents an excellent opportunity to take a closer look at the history and culture of different nations.
I am sure that the extensive program and friendly atmosphere of the Forum, as well as a wide variety of performances will contribute to its popularity and success.
I wish all the participants in the Festival and the artistic Competition the inspiration and good presentations, and the viewers – bright impressions of meeting with the folk art!

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL "INTERFOLK" IN RUSSIA
Dear friends!
The Committee of Culture of St.-Petersburg, Creative association «Inter Aspect», the International Center of Support of Arts, The State University of Culture and Arts with support of The State Academic Capella of St.-Petersburg invite to take part in the festival of folk music, dances, suits, ceremonies, games, friendship and joy of life.
«INTERFOLK» gives the chance to talented participants to present culture and achievements in art of the countries and regions at the international level.
Folklore beautiful and emotionally powerful art which is capable to mention the most thin strings of human soul. We are assured that the festival «INTERFOLK in Russia» not only becomes the present holiday for spectators, judges and admirers of folklore, but also will open new names and talents. Presence on this holiday of folklore of the world means not only participation, comparison of the possibilities with other collectives, but also knowledge of pleasure of joint performance and creativity.
Petersburg is one of the largest centers of world musical art, and also a multinational megacity, and it is natural, what exactly the festival takes place in our city propagandizing the best traditions of national art.
